About the Founder 

In China, Faye started her career in childcare where after 11 years in teaching Kindergarten, she immigrated to the United States to unite with her husband.  Shortly after the birth of their son, she stayed at home utilizing her early childhood education experience and discipline to love and train her child to be well-rounded and outgoing.  She was determined to make the most of his language development timeframe by teaching him all the languages she knew.  By four years of age, her son was able to seamlessly understand and speak three Chinese dialects on top of English.  Now in grade school, he has many interests, not only in languages and their culture, but in all subjects in general, as he has a love of learning.

Faye returned to her career in childcare by working in a US daycare center.  She impressed parents with her language skills so much that she was urged by parents to teach their children Chinese in hopes of broadening their learning opportunities.  With her Chinese and American teaching experience, her Chinese class was a success.  The parents appreciated her hard efforts and nominated her for the Diversity Champion Award.  The parents were so happy with their children’s enthusiasm for learning the parents encouraged her to open up her own home daycare so that she can teach on a more intimate level.  The seed was planted and she knew what she had wanted all along.  She wanted to not only care for their basic needs, but also to train and discipline children to be well rounded and open them to endless possibilities.

After a years worth of preparation, Faye’s Bilingual Daycare was open for business.  Within two months, parents of former students were openly giving referrals and high recommendations to friends, family, and coworkers.  With their support, Faye’s confidence in her business surged and enrollment was underway. 

Training and Experience

Faye Hu began STARS training in 2006, and received a CDA (Child Development Associate) certificate in 2008. She also received infant/child CPR, First Aid, and HIV/ AIDS training. The State of Washington requires that Faye take annual training on topics related to caring for young children. 

As part of her training as a Kindergarten teacher, Faye also received instruction in Child Psychology, Pediatric Health, and music instruction. She is trained in how to apply different methods of teaching to children's different learning styles.
