"Our son loves going to this daycare! The gentle, positive atmosphere really enhances his learning and he can't wait to go play with Faye each day." - Diane, Renton

…shares about her culture every chance she gets and integrates it into the classroom…hard worker, team player, supportive, caring, values each child’s unique backgrounds/personalities

Miss Faye has done an excellent job in creating fun learning experiences for her students…I am amazed on how much he has learned in her class and how well he pronounces the new language…very enthusiastic in teaching Mandarin Chinese...very attentive as his pre-school teacher, and always able to provide me with details on what has happened that day in school and his progress.

…The kids come home singing the Mandarin songs and reciting numbers, identifying objects and food that they can say. She also teaches them about cultural traditions, like Chinese New Year and demonstrated traditional dancing. Miss Faye is a dedicated teacher. She is always cheerful toward the students and parents, very approachable, and vested in the growth of our children.

…Ms. Faye did tremendous job getting the kids ready for kindergarten. They taught the kids manners and social skills (listen to teachers as well as peers, respect each other, be friends with everybody) and also basic writing and reading skills. Our daughter’s kindergarten teacher was very surprised how “ready” she was. …Ms. Faye started teaching the kids Chinese...You wouldn’t think, preschoolers would pick up totally different language easily. To many people’s surprise, it became a huge hit. Soon kids were greeting people in Chinese, writing numbers in Chinese. They really enjoyed it…
Teachers make a big impact on children’s lives. Good teachers, in my opinion, are the ones who constantly challenge themselves, treat children as individuals, communicate with parents closely, and most of all, love teaching children. Ms. Faye is one of those teachers. I am certain that her dedication will touch so many kids’ lives for many years to come.

…She asked feedback from the parents and adjust her teaching based on the kids individual needs…Ms. Faye is talented, diversified, considerate and loving.

Finding a quality daycare that we could trust with our only son was a stressfulendeavor- until we met Faye! Right away we could tell it would be a good fit! As soon as wewalked into her clean, invitingand very organizedhome, our sixteen-month-old son went toddling right over to one of the indoor play areas- he was happy! Faye met with us to explain her philosophy on childcare and detailed her extensive background and experience. This put us right at ease and got us excited about all of the wonderful opportunities our little guy would have each day. Indoor play and interaction with a small group of other children; outdoor play time in a secured and child-friendly yard complete with sand box, garden, and lots of outdoor toys; crafts and paper exploration; dancing; imaginative play; and even a “circle time” with singing and games. In addition to all of this, she also provides the amazing opportunity of new language acquisition! Our son also enjoys home cooked meals and snacks daily. Knowing that he is getting food as good (if not better) as what we serve him at home, is amazing! Faye has provided all of this for our son- and more! She and her staff are professional in running the business, but also provide lots of caring and love! At the end of the day we sign him out and get a slip of paper that tells us about how his day went (naps, diapers, etc.) and Faye fills us in on the fun activities and all the sweet anecdotes from the day. We have been thrilled to watch our son’s confidence and Chinese vocabulary grow! We are so pleased with Faye’s Bilingual Daycare and hope to send him here for years to come!

Faye makes a point of communicating to the parents in a positive way and letting them know of their child’s learning and helpfulness. Whenever I have a concern she has great ideas. I know she gives her best energy everyday to this job. She has a positive attitude, smiles, is helpful, dedicated, loves the kids, loves to see them grow and learn.

Ms. Faye is a tremendous teacher and role model for my five year-old. She is clearly liked by all children and engages them directly, as only a teacher who understands and loves pre-school children can do. We have especially appreciated the extra time Ms. Faye has taken to talk to my wife and me about what works to brings out the best in our child, even on those difficult days (of which there are a lot fewer because of Ms. Faye!).
– Brian

…She is a caring and loving person, and she is very experienced and enthusiastic about early-childhood education. Further, she is patient with the kids as well as the parents – she makes sure to take the time to talk to us about our son’s progress (both strength and weakness) and answer all of our questions….Ms. Faye is very strong in the areas of music and language. Her own son is also in her classroom and through observation I have found him to be very well mannered and can speak English, Mandarin, and two more Chinese dialects (Cantonese and Taishanese). Now that Ms. Faye is opening her own bilingual (English and Chinese) childcare, I have every reason to believe that it’ll be a successful one. I am sure that all the families in her daycare will come to enjoy her care as much as we did.

My son Clayton had Miss Faye as his teacher at the Bright Horizon Learning Center at Eastgate Way, Bellevue for two years. Miss Faye was excellent as a teacher as well as a caregiver for my child. She had certainly exceeded my expectation in the care of my child and her quality of work was obviously standing out among most of the other teachers in the school.
Clayton first had Miss Faye as his teacher when he was 3 years old when I signed him up for the “Mandarin Chinese for Children” enrichment class offered by the school. Miss Faye was the teacher who taught the class. Twice a week, Miss Faye introduced Chinese to my son and other preschoolers in the class with fun and interactive activities e.g. songs, rhymes, dance and games. The materials she taught in the class were so receptive by Clayton; I heard him constantly reading loud (by memorization) the Chinese poems or singing the Chinese songs he learned from the class. With a bunch of preschoolers in the class (mostly boys), unavoidably there were times when their attention ran out. Miss Faye handled those situations very tactfully and was able to bring back their attention in a very short period of time.
When Clayton turned 4 years old, he was put in a preschool class where Miss Faye worked as the co-teacher in the class. So by that time, Clayton not only had Miss Faye as his Chinese teacher, he also had her as his regular pre-school teacher. I appreciated Miss Faye frequently providing me with highlights of the class activities and Clayton’s positive/negative behaviors at school and how she praised/corrected his behaviors. That was very important to me because with that knowledge then I knew how to re-enforce the teaching on my child at home when similar situation happened. I could tell Clayton genuinely enjoyed Miss Faye as his caregiver as he could always find comfort from her when he was upset. On the other hand, Clayton respected Miss Faye when she was correcting his misbehavior and almost always more receptive to her correction than to his own parents.
When Miss Faye left the school and opened her own home child care business in June 2009, I transferred Clayton to her home child care so that Clayton could continue benefited from Miss Faye’s excellent care. In those three months in the summer before Clayton entered Kindergarten, Miss Faye continued to help Clayton improving his writing skill, phonic, math, Chinese and music daily. Clayton enjoyed very much the fresh homemade breakfasts and lunches provided by Miss Faye, even more so than the food we prepared at home. In general, he ate better at school than at home. I was very pleased that Miss Faye took the extra effort to include fresh fruits instead of crackers or chips as snacks, and she offered organic milk for her students.
I truly appreciated Miss Faye to be a vital partner of me in helping my child to be physically, socially/emotionally and academically ready for kindergarten.
